In this first series of silhouettes, the German artist and reformer Karl Wilhelm Diefenbach expressed innocence through chalk and charcoal illustrations. From his famous Kindermusik series, this piece features four prints of children playing music in silhouette. These fine art prints feature Diefenbach's signature and inscription from the antique printing company Verlag B.G. Teubner in Leipzig, Germany.
Measuring 28 inches x 21.5 inches, these prints are professionally mounted on thick gray mat with a solid white back. There two shallow dents in the back not visible from front and which do not affect the prints (see last image above). The entire piece is sealed in a protective layer of plastic to prevent water damage. This work is ready to ship in sturdy flat cardboard and is wrapped to protect from bending. Once arrived, it is ready for display or can be framed.
This print will make a beautiful addition to any home decor style. Thank you for viewing! You may return to Clemons' Crafts for additional vintage books, junk journal paper packs, and ephemera here:
